Sections cover service conditions, definitions, ratings, design and construction, type and routine tests, guide to the selection of switching devices for service, information to be given with enquiries, tenders and orders, transport, storage, erection and maintenance and quality control during manufacture. Appendices cover internal fault, humidity test, calculation of bare conductor cross-sectional area for thermal stresses with currents of short duration, guide for voltage tests after erection on site and items subject to agreement between the purchaser and the manufacturer.
