SSPC CS 23.00/AWS C2.23/NACE No. 12 – Specification for the Application of Thermal Spray Coatings (Metallizing) of Aluminum, Zinc, and Their Alloys and Composites for the Corrosion Protection of Steel

The standard provides minimum requirements for 1) surface preparation prior to application of the thermal spray coating, 2) application of the thermal spray coating, and 3) when specified, application of a sealer or of a sealer and topcoat. It also includes non-mandatory appendices describing several procedures that can be used to verify proper coating thickness and adhesion in the field.
