AS 1508 – Commercial length measures

Specifies a 1 metre rigid length measure for use in retail trade and other commercial transactions. Material may be steel, brass, or white hardwood, and tips for protection of ends of hardwood rules are specified. Minimum thickness and width are given, with provision for reduced thickness of metal measures intended for permanent attachment to a counter or other structure. Graduation, figuring, marking, accuracy and finish are prescribed.
