AS 1793 – Principles of limit state design method

Lays down the principles of limit state design and is intended to form the basis for future revisions of SAA codes for structural design. Based on and essentially consistent with ISO 2394, General Principles for the Verification of the Safety of Structures, it covers the definition and categories of limit states, and design considerations. A paper by Professor L. K. Stevens, Melbourne University, outlining limit state philosophy and application, is included as an annex.
